In this panel we are going to have a talk about definitions, types of tumors based on their origins and different treatment modalities we can offer our patients. Then different factors affecting our decision to choose the best treatment for our patients will be discussed by the panelists.Updates regarding genetic investigation and its role in prediction of a patient’s prognosis, as well as preoperative evaluations regarding different genetic mutations will be emphasized.Following that, with presenting some cases of glomus tumor, we will try to figure out what our panelists think, and will discuss their ideas and experiences regarding similar cases.Our radiotherapist/oncologist will expose new aspects of the role of radiotherapy in the management of this tumor. Regarding this issue the radiotherapist’s experience is precious for us. He will also discuss the possibility of a second tumor arising as a consequence of radiotherapy. Finally, the importance of preoperative embolization and its different models will be a part of our discussion, along with secretory tumors and their diagnosis preoperatively.Ultimately we hope for our audience to be updated and further discover the art of managing temporal bone glomus tumors.
